Yathrib, Medina
Medina (known as Al-Medina al-Munawwarah) is one of the most important places of the Islamic history you know. The reason is the sacred Mosque (Masjid e Nabwi) is in Medina. It is a city lying in Saudi Arabia and is the capital city of Medina Province known earlier as Yathrib. Yathrib is also the city of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his sacred grave is there. When our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) left Mecca then the people of Medina city welcomed the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Medina holds great significance for the Muslims of the world as city of Islam and Islamic historic people. In Masjid e Nabwi, there is a place where our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) buried along with his companions. After the Hijjah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the population of the Medina city increases rapidly. And this city serves as the base of operations for Muslims. Along with Masjid-e-Nabwi, there are many of the places which hold the significance. Places are such as Mount Uhad, Al-Baqi cemetery and seven mosques. Buy some Cheap Ramadan Umrah packages to visit all these places here.
Mount Uhad
Mount Uhad, populous as Jabal Uhad is a mountain situated in Medina, Saudi Arabia. It was the site where our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had a fight with Quraish. Imagine hiking a mountain of Jenna that the Prophet himself loves a lot. We are here in the blessed city of medina on a rare prophetic hiking adventure. Very few people hike the real Uhad mountain range but the prophet himself climbed this mountain with his companions.
Trekking a way up and very quickly, it gets very challenging now. It is actually different from climbing other mountains because the ground here is full of these tiny little pebbles. So as you’re walking, these pebbles are still shifting and sliding underneath your feet. All these little pebbles stabilize your muscles in legs and your feet really working hard to keep you at balance. Make sure you don’t fall so it’s really amazing to think that the fossil Sun would be climbing this mountain. Climbing this mountain in dazzling hot sun is truly a difficult task my friends.
Al-Baqi cemetery
Al-Baqi cemetery as Jannat al-Baqi is the first Islamic cemetery situated in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Many of the family members or companions of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) have graves in Jannat al-Baqi. The main graves are of daughter of Prophet PBUH, Hazrat Fatima AS and her sons Imam Hassan AS.
Well, let me tell you something, here come some ignorant people. They come towards the graves and tease, or loot the dust from graves. For this reason, soldiers have been posted here. If you also come here and think about it, you must obey the law of the country. There are very strict security arrangements especially on the graves of the Ahl al-Bayt and Companion of prophet. And there is a lot more security near the main Wall, the most crowded in the whole of Jannat al-Baqi.
If you come here with Umrah intentions, must add these places in your Umrah packages to explore this cemetery. Please don’t forget to recite the Durood on Prophet PBUH while visiting Jannat al-Baqi. Only men can visit this cemetery and women cannot visit any cemetery according to Islam. Try to visit this cemetery between Fajar to 9:30 in the morning.
Masjid Anbariya
This mosque is in the turkey style and built near the Hejaz railway. It is also famous as Turki masjid in medina. When turkeys’ comes here, first they used to offer the nawafil prayers in this mosque.
Masjid al Suqya
This mosque is a beautiful mosque where Prophet Muhammad PBUH prayed for the ummah. Here prophet prayed to Allah to convert Makah as haram. The Islam started from here and also ghizwa e Badar took place there. There is a well near the mosque but now closed permanently. Its water was sweeter than prophet PBUH luaab-e-dhan and used in prophet house in routine. Book your Ramadan Umrah packages to visit this mosque Suqya in the holy month of Ramadan.
Masjid e Quba to Masjid e Nabwi
The first Masjid in Islam, which the Prophet established was the Masjid Quba. The Prophet along with the companions constructed the Masjid of Quba. He used stones, mud, and palm trunks. At that time the Masjid of Quba has capacity of approximately 10 to 15 people, with a maximum of 40 people. But today Masjid Quba is sufficient for thousands of people. Further expansions work is going on in this mosque as best of my knowledge. The Prophet stayed here for probably 4 nights and then moved further.
He left here after the Morning Prayer on Friday When Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu Talib arrived in Medina from Mecca. Some accounts also mention that when Hazrat Ali ibn Talib arrived in Medina, his shoes worn out and torn. So the Prophet PBUH accompanied him from here to the Masjid Nabwi.
